The bees make our Lavender Honey. No essential oil is added to the vintage the bees create. We just try to take care of the amazing and hard working bees to the best of our ability and then harvest some of their summer work for ourselves and to share with you with as little disruption as possible to our hard working and diligent bee colonies. We leave 60 pounds of honey per hive to feed each colony over our Northern Michigan winter.

We do not use any plastic inside of our hives and minimize use of plastic when we process the honey. Once harvested, we bottle in clear glass bottles to keep it as pure as possible to and to honor the bee's hard summer of work.

Each year's honey is kind of like fine wine: no two year's flavor and aroma and consistency is the same. This year's vintage is what we think of as smooth, mellow and mouth warming. The lavender nectar wipes away any excessive sugary taste of the honey and adds a slight hint of lavender at the back end as you swallow. Our raw honey is prepared in small batches on site and is only strained never filtered nor heated. So it retains much of the local pollen and nutrients the bees created it with.

  • Summer of 2023 Vintage is smooth on the palette. We had a hot June and cooler rainier August this year. So bees got to stay on the lavender through September.

Do not feed to infants 1 year old or younger. Since it is raw and unfiltered, our honey may crystalize before you finish enjoying it. If so, simply warm slowly in sauce pan of water until it returns to liquid state.
